Support services offered to our customers
Our Community Investment Team provides a wide range of services that support the economic resilience, health and wellbeing of our customers and the wider community. We’ve a range of services that provide support and assistance to help people manage their money and maximise their income.
Employment, Skills and Development Service
This service is partially core-funded and partially funded through smaller external contracts which are typically subcontracted via local authorities from the Adult Education budget. The Group provides an Employment and Training advice service which provides information, advice and support to help customers improve their employment prospects.

Skills and Development centres
Our Skills and Development service provides a range of courses and support for our customers. We run three Skills and Development centres, delivering courses in basic digital skills, functional maths, and English. In the past year, 137 customers have directly benefited from this service.
Money Advisors (core-funded and directly delivered)
We’re proud to say that the Group has four expert Money Advisors, who provide support and advice to customers who may be struggling with their finances. The team can help customers claim benefits they’re entitled to, maximise their income and pay their rent. In the past year, 1,213 customers have directly benefited from this service.
Debt Management Service
Our Debt Management Service offers independent advice to all our customers. In the past year, 44 customers have directly benefited from this service.
Health and Wellbeing services
We provide access to a range of services that support the health and wellbeing of our customers.
Steven Walker credits the help and support he’s received through the New Horizons programme with helping him turn his life around.
Longhurst Group is a founding partner of the programme, which provides coaching for people out of work in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to help them access the job market.
Pauline Howard turned to our Money Advice team for help to maximise her income and help make everyday life that little bit easier.
Collaborative working between our Money Advisors and other teams within Longhurst Group provided invaluable help to David Jordan, following the death of his mother during the Coronavirus pandemic
