Does the Group have a strategy to use or increase the use of responsibly sourced materials for all building works?
Our current Employers Requirements stipulate compliance with the BRE Green Guide which measures the environmental impact of common building materials and components. However, following the withdrawal of the BRE EcoHomes standard, there isn’t a recognised standard for measuring this.

Does the Group have a strategy for waste management incorporating building materials?
Our current Employers Requirements stipulate that a site waste management plan should be produced by the contractor prior to commencement of work, confirming target levels of waste reduction for the project. Appendix 5 provides an example of actual waste recovery information provided to us by our contractor as part of their monthly progress reports.

Does the Group have a strategy for good water management?
Our specification is in accordance with Approved Document G, requiring maximum water usage in new dwellings of 125 litres per person per day, or where local planning conditions dictate, a lower usage of 110 litres per person per day. This is measured through the calculation we’re required to submit to Building Control at scheme design stage.
